Now, men, before you freak out, this article isn't about 'what men want women to want' but more rather what women actually want from men. I've noticed that a woman will want to tell every little nuance of a story, where their male counterpart might be feeling like, 'ok, what's the point?' A man typically seeks a solution to the problem, as if the story was a problem. Or, he's looking for a way to suggest something to help his woman improve, which is based upon competitive thinking (how men relate in conversation is much more competitive). In fact, a woman often is just relating this story to SHARE with him; there isn't anything competitive about it.



So what do women really want from their man?



The top 6 things women want FROM MEN, in order, are:

1. Women want men who exhibit confidence (or power)

2. Women want men with a sense of humor (fun)

1. Women want a man to be confident! Confidence is the number one quality women look for. Don't be wimpy. Don't apologize for everything. Be real. Be you.



2. Women want a man who makes her feel like she's the only one. Women go nuts over a man who will go the extra mile. For example, he opens the door for her, he walks on the right side of the street, he helps her shop. I'm talking about being a GENTLEMAN! If she is cold, offer her your jacket. If she is in trouble, protect her. If there is danger, put your arm around her. Be a real man.



3. Women want a man with a sense of humor. A woman will almost always love a man who can make her laugh. If you are dull, you are boring. If you make a woman laugh, you're halfway home. Take a chance, be real, but be funny. There are several seduction experts who claim that being 'cocky' and 'funny' are the two most important qualities to attracting a woman. I agree.



4. Women want a man to listen to them (yes, even to the gripes and details of all the craziness) and not necessarily give advice. Many women love to complain about their problems; however, they complain not to receive advice, but merely to sound off. I know it's hard to nod and be supportive, because you want to watch ESPN or do something that to you may seem more exciting, but the fact is, your woman will go to the ends of the earth to love you when you truly listen to them and acknowledge their needs. Let them know you care. But don't be a sissy.



Women say they want to be treated like an equal. This is not true. Women want to be treated like a WOMAN. Not like a man. If she wanted to be with a woman, she'd do that. She wants to be with YOU. Therefore, be a MAN. This is not to be confused with being treated like a piece of property, not to be confused with being treated with disrespect. Women want to be respected! 8. Women LOVE a man with a plan. Women love men with ambition. Men who know who they are, what we're doing tonight, and what we're doing with our life. If you don't have a plan, get one. I have a plan (a) and plan (b) ready at all times, so that no matter what, it will appear I'm fairly spontaneous, but reality is I usually know where, when, and how the evening or date could go. In dating, it is extremely important that you have a plan when you ask a woman out. They will judge your sense of confidence by how well you have thought out where you will take her and what you will do together. So, think ahead, have a plan, then work that plan. That’s another thing. When you kick game, you want to seem UNIQUE not TYPICAL. Try your best not to make yourself indistinguishable from the other 30 guys that stepped to her with the exact same line and the exact same offer of free stuff that she doesn’t even deserve yet. Not getting it? Let’s look at the flip side. Let’s say YOU were in the club, and a chick walked up to you out of the blue wanting to go home with you.. Now, there are some guys that can graciously accept that and go get their groove on. :) There are A LOT OF GUYS that will see that chick as loose, easy, a ho, desperate, whatever it is, they’re going to low-rate her for giving them something for nothing. Am I right? Have you seen this happen or heard of it from your boys or your girls? Uh-huh

OTOH, if you actually KNOW someone and want to buy them a drink to show them that you enjoy their company or value them as a friend, by all means, that’s a great gesture that people appreciate. :) Similarly, if you met her just now and had a nice conversation and you’re *NOW* feeling goodwill towards her, offering to get her something as you excuse yourself to go to the bar is a classy and chivalrous gesture. You’re rewarding GOOD behavior. You’re letting her know that you appreciate her for her personality and the way she carries herself.

1. Survey the territory

Check out the nightclub and figure out the best location to plant yourself. Pick a prime spot, not too far away from all the action. It could be at the bar, which gives you the opportunity to chat up the bartender and be nice to him, in the hope he’ll give you priority later when you’re getting the lady a drink. While everybody else has to wait an inordinate time, you can impress her with your quick service, thanks to the initial groundwork you put in. Wherever you choose to be, make sure it’s not in a corner, where visibility, both in terms of seeing and being seen, is poor. You also don’t want to have to walk from one end of the room to another when you see someone you like, so make sure you’re somewhere that is centrally located.

2. Zero in on your target

Scan the club, or the area within your view, to see who catches your eye. If you happen to see two women, for instance, who both take your fancy, and one is with a group and the other single, preferably avoid the group. It is less intimidating to approach a single woman. Observe her discreetly for a little while, before making any moves. You might pick up on some cues that you could use later, either as a conversation starter or to bridge potential awkward silences.

Gone are the days when standard pick up lines worked, if they ever did. Women would much rather be credited with some intelligence. Assuming that you’re now in the enviable position of at least being in her vicinity, consolidate you position. Be attentive and have fun. Make her laugh and keep it light. Don’t use the excuse that the nightclub is packed to act like a pervert and rub up against her. Don’t take advantage of the situation. You could ask her if she likes quickies’ hastening to add that you’re only talking about tequila shots. 8. Keep your head clear

You, on the other hand, definitely need all your wits about you. Don’t imbibe too much, even if you think you can handle your drinks. The worst experience for a woman is for a guy to start slurring and come on too strong without even being aware of it. It is a complete and total turn off. 9. Ask her to dance

10. Make your final move

After you’ve spent a good bit of time chatting with her, dancing and enjoying each others company, go ahead and ask her either to have coffee with you or whether you can see her again. Don’t indicate that you expect anything; she might think you’re exacting payment for the drink you bought her. Be happy and settle for whatever she’s ready to offer, it may be her number, another date or if you’re really lucky and you’ve made an impression, you might even get to see the inside of her apartment!
